Check out the seventh edition of our newsletter, "The NADP Connect." In this edition, you will find a special announcement regarding our directory, LinkedIn tips, a featured NADP ED Talk, and much more.
What a year this has been! The NADP has come a long way and it's all thanks to you! We've grown, we've learned, we've reflected, we've made some changes, and now we're ready for our second year!
To start, we have one major announcement:
With our directory public, members will now be visible to the media, the consumer, and fellow divorce professionals. With the goal to help grow our members and their businesses, we knew that this would be one of the best things we could do for them.
Members, with our directory viewable to the public, we'd like you to please update your profile and make sure that all is filled out and up-to-date. This includes, but it not limited to, the following sections: your website, your email address, your phone number, your license information, awards you earned, as well as "more information." Use this opportunity to share what you would like the public to know about you and your business, as well as the best way to get in contact with you.
To all of those who attended our holiday party on December 15th at ArtServe! It was a wonderful celebration of the holidays, as well as a celebration of all of you! Below is a photo of all of your donations from the party that we dropped off at Kids In Distress. Thank you so much for making a difference in the lives of children going through a difficult time!
Every month, on the third Thursday of the month, we have our"Lunch and Leverage LinkedIn Workshop"with LinkedIn ProFinder Kimball Stadler. In this series, Kimball, who is the CEO and Founder of Top Dog Performance, teaches the ins and outs of LinkedIn and how to maximize your profile to achieve maximum business success. It's an awesome call! Make sure to join to learn some strategic ways to leverage your LinkedIn profile!
Here's what some of our members have said:
"This is an amazing series for a social media platform that is essential to today’s business environment. Being many (maybe another many) years older than many of my professional colleagues, I need to see how things work, and I need to be shown where to point and click, or I don’t get it, and then I don’t do it.
Kimball is very thorough, very detailed in her explanations and makes sure that it is understood. This is an invaluable series that I have been waiting for. Thank you Kimball, and thank you NADP for providing this information to the members."- Harriett Fox, Forensic Accountant and Member of the Aventura Chapter
by Bill Donaldson, CFP® and Membership Chair of the Fairfield County Chapter
In Westport, CT, at our Fairfield County Chapter, Bill Donaldson gave an excellent ED Talk on money coaching. He offered valuable information regarding all of the different aspects of the money coaching process and what other divorce professionals can keep in mind when serving their clients.
"It was a fascinating talk about his work as a Money Coach and the ways in which money coaching can help someone going through divorce gain greater awareness of his or her relationship to money. Our group was engaged as Bill asked us for our earliest memories of money. Many of us spoke about our family of origin's attitudes towards money, ie; money doesn't grow on trees, etc. Gaining an understanding of one's relationship to money is particularly important for someone who may not have been responsible for handling his or her own finances prior to divorce. Bill helped us to understand how money coaching can facilitate a healthier relationship to money and help people through the divorce process and thereafter. Bill delineated the different money archetypes, which you can see in his presentation which is attached. There is a personal quiz one can take to assess one's money archetype. If interested, please contact Bill Donaldson for more information. Thanks to Bill for setting the bar high for future presentations in our newly forming group!" - Randi Roth, Assistant Director of the Fairfield County Chapter
